In short
- Sweet Craft Games does not operate player accounts, and does not store your gameplay data on our servers.
- Your settings, your player name and your rank progress are saved only on your own device.
- The Game contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash reporting.
- Online matches are peer-to-peer. Connecting to another player means your IP address and theirs may be visible to one another and to the connection services described below. That is how peer-to-peer networking works.
- This website uses no cookies and no analytics.
01Introduction
Sweet Craft Games (“Sweet Craft Games,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) develops and publishes DANGER ZONE: PRIZE FIGHTER (“the Game”). We respect your privacy, and we have deliberately built the Game to collect as little information as possible.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you play the Game, use its online multiplayer features, visit the official DANGER ZONE: PRIZE FIGHTER website, or contact Sweet Craft Games for support.
This Privacy Policy describes the Game and the website as they currently exist. Where a feature is not implemented, we say so plainly rather than reserving rights over information we do not actually collect. If we add features that change what is processed, we will update this Privacy Policy before or at the time those features are released.
02Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Game and to the official DANGER ZONE: PRIZE FIGHTER website.
It does not replace the privacy policies of third-party platforms and services. Where the Game is distributed or supported by a platform such as Steam (operated by Valve Corporation), that platform processes information independently, under its own terms and privacy policy. Sweet Craft Games does not control, and is not responsible for, how those services handle your information.
03How Information Is Handled
Different kinds of information are handled in genuinely different ways. This section separates them by what actually happens to each one.
3.1 Information processed only while you play
The following is processed temporarily, in your device's memory or in transit, for as long as it is needed to run a match or a session. It is not written to disk by the Game and is not sent to Sweet Craft Games:
- Your inputs during a match, and the inputs your opponent sends you during an online match;
- The shared random seed, the selected fighters and the selected stage for the current match;
- Round and match outcomes within the current online session, including the running win/loss tally shown in the lobby;
- Connection status, latency and round-trip-time measurements, and disconnect events;
- The party code for the current session.
This information ceases to exist when the session ends or the Game is closed.
3.2 Information stored locally on your device
The Game saves a small amount of data in local storage on your own device. This data is not transmitted to Sweet Craft Games, and we cannot read it. It consists of:
- Display and screen settings — your chosen screen and presentation options;
- Gameplay options — difficulty, rounds to win, round timer, visual-effects settings and similar preferences;
- Your local player profile — the player name you type in, your offline rank, your rank points, the highest rank you have reached, and flags recording which tutorial and training modules you have completed.
The player name is chosen entirely by you. It is not verified, not linked to any account, and not checked against any real identity. You may set it to anything you wish, including a name that does not identify you.
Rank and progression in this release are offline and local. Rank progress is calculated on your own device and stored on your own device. There is no server-side progression, no online rank ladder, and no ranked statistics held by Sweet Craft Games.
You can erase all of it at any time by clearing the site or application data for the Game on your device. Doing so permanently deletes your settings, profile and rank progress, because no copy exists anywhere else.
3.3 Information transmitted during online multiplayer
The Game's online mode is a private “friend versus friend” lobby joined using a party code. When you create or join an online match, the following is transmitted:
- To the other player, directly — the display name you typed (limited to 12 characters), your fighter selection, your ready state, your per-tick inputs, stage selection, rematch and disconnect messages, and timing messages used to measure connection quality;
- To the connection services described in Section 10 — the network information necessary to establish and maintain a connection, including your IP address, together with the party code used as a temporary session identifier.
Section 9 explains peer-to-peer networking and its privacy implications in more detail. Please read it before using online features.
3.4 Information stored remotely by Sweet Craft Games
Sweet Craft Games does not operate player accounts, and does not store gameplay data, match history, statistics, rankings or player profiles on our servers.
We operate exactly one piece of backend infrastructure for the Game: a credential service that issues short-lived credentials for the relay servers used to connect players who cannot connect to each other directly. Your game client contacts it once per online session. As with any request to any web server, that request necessarily reveals your IP address to the service in order for a response to be returned to you. That service uses your IP address for exactly one purpose: as a short-lived rate-limiting key, so that no single address can flood the endpoint. The counter it keeps expires within a minute. The service has no database, no log store and no analytics attached to it, so your IP address is not written to disk, is not retained, and is not combined with any other information. We do not use these requests to build a profile of you.
The only information Sweet Craft Games holds about an identifiable person is the content of support correspondence you choose to send us, as described in Section 5.
3.5 Information handled independently by third parties
Some services necessary to run online multiplayer and the website receive information directly from your device and handle it under their own privacy policies rather than ours. These are identified individually in Section 10.
04The Official Website
The official DANGER ZONE: PRIZE FIGHTER website is a static informational site.
Sweet Craft Games does not set cookies on this website, and the site uses no analytics, advertising or tracking technology. Selecting or playing a trailer loads a third-party YouTube player, which is governed by Google's own policies.
Hosting. The website is hosted by Netlify. As with any web host, Netlify processes standard server and network information necessary to deliver the site and protect its infrastructure. This may include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, the date and time of the request, and the referring page. Netlify handles this under its own privacy policy.
Web fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests these files directly from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address and browser information when you load a page. This happens on every page view.
Video thumbnails. Trailer thumbnail images are loaded from YouTube's image servers, which likewise means Google receives your IP address and browser information when you load a page containing them.
Video playback. Trailers are embedded using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. The YouTube player loads only after you select or play a trailer — either by pressing the play button, or by choosing a different trailer from the list beneath the video, which starts it immediately. Until you do one of those things, no request is made to YouTube's player at all. Once the player loads, YouTube processes information under Google's privacy policy.
If cookies, analytics, advertising technology or other tracking technologies are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated, and any legally required notice or consent mechanism will be provided at that time.
05Support Communications
If you contact Sweet Craft Games for assistance, we receive whatever information you choose to provide. This may include:
- Your name or username;
- Your email address or other contact details;
- A platform identifier, if you choose to give one;
- A description of your issue;
- Screenshots, recordings, log files or other attachments you send;
- The contents of your correspondence with us.
We use this information solely to understand and respond to your enquiry, to reproduce and fix problems you report, and to keep a record of the support history relating to your enquiry.
Please do not send passwords, payment card details, government identification, or other sensitive information that we have not asked for and do not need.
06What We Do Not Collect
To be explicit about the boundaries of this Policy, the current development build of the Game and the website do not include any of the following:
- No analytics or telemetry. The Game contains no analytics software and sends no usage, session or behavioural data to us or to anyone else.
- No crash reporting. The Game contains no crash-reporting or error-reporting service. Diagnostic messages about network connections are written to your local console and to an on-screen status line only; they are never transmitted to us.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No cookies on the website, and no tracking pixels or device fingerprinting.
- No platform account data. The Game does not read your Steam ID, Steam profile, friends list, platform display name, ownership records, or any other platform account information.
- No Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Steam Stats or Steam Leaderboards. None of these features are implemented in the current development build.
- No online rankings, ranked statistics, leaderboards, persistent player profiles or server-side progression. These are shown in the Game as planned for a future update, and are not active.
- No player reporting, moderation, ban or anti-cheat systems. None of these are implemented.
- No match recording or replay uploads. Replay recording is not implemented.
- No payment information. We never ask for and never receive payment card numbers or banking credentials. Where the Game is sold through a store such as Steam, the purchase is processed entirely by the platform operator and its payment partners; we do not receive your payment details.
- No location data, contact lists, biometric data, or microphone or camera access.
- No sale of personal information.
07How We Use Information
Given how little information reaches us, the purposes for which information is used are correspondingly narrow:
- To run the Game — loading your saved settings and profile from your own device so the Game behaves the way you left it;
- To establish online matches — processing the network information required to connect two players, and to maintain that connection for the duration of a session;
- To keep online connectivity working — issuing short-lived relay credentials so that players on restrictive networks can still connect;
- To respond to support requests — reading and replying to correspondence you send us, and investigating problems you report;
- To protect the Game and its services — maintaining the security and availability of the website and the relay-credential service, and preventing abuse of that infrastructure;
- To comply with the law — meeting legal obligations that apply to us.
We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not profile players.
08Legal Bases for Processing
Where the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), United Kingdom data protection law, or a similar framework applies, we rely on the following legal bases.
Performance of a contract
Processing the network information needed to connect you to another player is necessary in order to provide the online multiplayer functionality you have asked to use.
Legitimate interests
We rely on legitimate interests for maintaining the security and availability of the website and the relay-credential service, for responding to support enquiries, and for diagnosing and fixing faults reported to us. We have weighed these interests against your rights and freedoms and have limited the processing accordingly — in particular, by not logging, profiling or retaining player data on our own infrastructure.
Consent
Where consent is required by law, we will ask for it before processing. Typing a display name, entering an online lobby, and pressing play on an embedded trailer are all voluntary actions taken by you.
Legal obligations
We may process information where necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, court orders or valid legal requests.
09Online Multiplayer and Peer-to-Peer Networking
DANGER ZONE: PRIZE FIGHTER uses peer-to-peer networking for its online multiplayer mode. Understanding what that means matters, so this section sets it out directly.
When you create an online session, the Game generates a short party code and registers it with a brokering service so that another player can find you. When someone joins using that code, the brokering service introduces the two clients to each other, and the Game then attempts to open a direct connection between your device and your opponent's device. Once that direct connection is established, match data flows between the two players without passing through Sweet Craft Games.
In a peer-to-peer connection, your IP address may be visible to the player you are connected to, and theirs to you. This is an inherent property of direct peer-to-peer networking and is not specific to this Game. If you do not wish to share this information with another player, do not use the online multiplayer mode.
To make these connections work across home routers and firewalls, the Game uses standard connectivity-assistance technology:
- STUN servers help your device discover how it appears on the public internet, so that a direct connection can be attempted. Your IP address is visible to these servers.
- TURN relay servers are used only as a fallback when a direct connection cannot be established, for example on restrictive or corporate networks. When a relay is used, match traffic passes through that relay server, and your IP address is visible to it.
The credentials used to access the relay servers are short-lived and are requested by your client from our credential service at the start of an online session. No permanent relay credential is stored in the Game.
Sweet Craft Games does not log, record or retain the IP addresses of players who use online multiplayer, apart from the transient rate-limiting described in Section 3.4, and does not store the contents of matches. The third-party services described in Section 10 handle information under their own privacy policies, and their handling is outside our control.
Responsible use
You must not use network information obtained through the Game to identify, locate, track, harass, threaten, attack or interfere with another player. Doing so may be unlawful in your jurisdiction. It is also a misuse of the Game, and may result in restrictions on your access to online features once such measures exist.
10Third-Party Services
The following third parties may receive information directly from your device. Each acts under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review those policies.
Connection and multiplayer services
- PeerJS Cloud (
0.peerjs.com) — the public peer-brokering, or signalling, service that introduces two players to each other so a direct connection can be attempted. It receives the temporary party code and the network information required to perform that introduction, including your IP address. peerjs.com - Google STUN and Twilio STUN — public connectivity-discovery servers used to work out how your device appears on the public internet. They receive your IP address. Google privacy policy · Twilio privacy policy
- Metered TURN — the relay provider, used only as a fallback when a direct connection is not possible. When a relay is used, match traffic passes through it and your IP address is visible to it. Metered privacy policy
- Cloudflare — hosts the Sweet Craft Games credential service that issues short-lived relay credentials. It processes the request necessary to return a response to your client. Cloudflare privacy policy
Website services
- Netlify — hosts the official website and processes standard server and network information required to serve it. Netlify privacy policy
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used by the website; receives your IP address and browser information on page load. Google privacy policy
- YouTube (Google) — serves trailer thumbnail images on page load, and the video player itself only once you select or play a trailer. Google privacy policy
Distribution platforms
Where the Game is distributed through a store such as Steam, the platform operator independently handles distribution, purchases, refunds, account authentication and its own community features under its own privacy policy. The current development build of the Game does not integrate with Steam features such as Achievements, Cloud saves, Stats or Leaderboards, and does not read your platform account information. If that changes, this Privacy Policy will be updated.
11Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for advertising purposes.
We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances:
- To the service providers described in Section 10, strictly to the extent necessary for them to provide those services;
- Where required by applicable law, or in response to valid legal process;
- Where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
- Where necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Sweet Craft Games, our players, or the public;
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale or transfer of the Game or of Sweet Craft Games, subject to applicable law and to the protections described in this Privacy Policy.
12Data Retention
Retention differs according to where information lives:
- Temporary session information exists only for the duration of the session or match, and is discarded when the session ends or the Game closes.
- Information stored locally on your device is retained on your device until you delete it. It is under your control, not ours, and we cannot access or remove it for you.
- Support correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your enquiry and to maintain a record of support history, and thereafter for as long as reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or as required by law.
- Third-party service records, such as hosting or connection logs held by the providers listed in Section 10, are retained by those providers under their own retention practices.
Because Sweet Craft Games does not maintain player accounts or a player database, there is no long-term player record for us to retain or delete.
13Security
Sweet Craft Games takes reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, unauthorised disclosure, loss, misuse, alteration and destruction. Relay credentials issued by our credential service are short-lived, and no permanent relay secret is included in the Game client.
However, no online service, computer system or method of electronic transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your own devices, platform accounts and authentication credentials.
14Children's Privacy
DANGER ZONE: PRIZE FIGHTER is a fighting game containing stylised violence, and it is not designed for or directed at young children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in circumstances requiring parental consent where such consent has not been obtained. If we become aware that we have received such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it or otherwise address it appropriately.
Parents or guardians who believe that a child has provided personal information to us may contact us using the details in Section 20.
15International Data Transfers
Sweet Craft Games and the service providers supporting the Game and the website operate internationally. The connectivity services described in Sections 9 and 10 in particular route traffic through servers that may be located in a different country from you, and the server used is determined automatically by network conditions rather than chosen by us.
As a result, information may be processed outside the country in which you live, including in countries whose data-protection laws differ from those of your own. Where required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards will be used for international transfers of personal information.
16Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights in relation to your personal information, including the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate information;
- Request deletion of certain information;
- Request restriction of certain processing;
- Object to certain processing;
- Request portability of certain information;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- Lodge a complaint with your applicable data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 20. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests, and some rights are subject to legal limitations and exceptions.
Please note what we actually hold. Because Sweet Craft Games does not operate player accounts and does not store gameplay data, a request for access or deletion will, in practice, usually relate only to support correspondence you have sent us. Settings, profile and rank data are stored on your own device and can be deleted by you directly, by clearing the Game's stored data.
17California and Similar Privacy Rights
Where applicable law grants additional privacy rights, eligible users may request information about the collection, use, disclosure, correction or deletion of their personal information, and may exercise those rights without discriminatory treatment.
Sweet Craft Games does not sell personal information, and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. If our practices materially change, this Privacy Policy will be updated and any additional legally required controls will be provided.
18Third-Party Links
The Game and the website may contain links to third-party websites and services, including video platforms and distribution stores. Sweet Craft Games is not responsible for the privacy practices, content or security of those services. You should review their privacy policies before providing them with personal information.
19Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Game develops, as new online features are introduced, as platform functionality is added, as service providers change, or as legal requirements evolve.
When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and provide additional notice where required by law. In particular, we will update this Privacy Policy before introducing any feature that collects or stores information beyond what is described here.
Players are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
