Biography

Mira Knox built her own equipment. That matters more than it sounds. Almost every serious weapon in this tournament was handed to its owner by somebody with money and an interest in what they did with it. Hers was not. She made it herself, in the years after her life came apart, with a very specific set of people in mind.

The name on the poster is a joke the League made and she decided to keep. Nobody died. That is the part that gets her — she is grieving something that is still walking around, still breathing, still being applauded in this building. So she took the title, put it on the back of her coat, and entered.

She fights like someone who has thought about this for a long time: control the space, take away the option, hold them still, and make it land. Her move names are the tell. She did not come here to win a tournament. She came here to collect.

He gets to keep breathing. He doesn't get to keep pretending.
